In 2017, my first book God’s Way to A Mended Heart: Healing from Pain was published. Little did I know that, I would go on to write and self-publish two additional short devotional reads and a women’s self-care guide by the close of 2018. As I continued to give voice to my writing, a call to editing I could clearly hear. My first editing project opportunity—apart from my own personal writing projects—came when my daughter wrote her first novel. It was then, in 2018, that the idea (which I believe to be God-given) of copy editing was the business for me. It was so impressed upon my heart. Soon after, it was confirmed by a friend of mine who had no idea what was on my heart. Once I embraced what God had put on my heart regarding editing, I began to see something more. I believed that God would enable me to establish what I was feeling, what I had begun to see; a home base business. I really became focused and took editing more seriously. I researched, took classes, and watched videos to become more knowledgeable of the profession. I was focused (man was I focused) while at the same time, fighting the distractions that would try to still my time and attention away from what I was pursuing. I threw myself into the task all the more, and because I was giving it my full attention, the idea (vision) grew. I would spend a few hours in the evenings after working a full-time job Monday through Friday, on copy editing clients manuscripts. Saturdays soon became a full day of work devoted to copy editing. Keeping my eyes on the prize, I aligned and realigned my priorities to stay on course with my goals toward success. I had trusted God, and taken a leap of FAITH which lead to the conception of what is now know as Flavored Words Writing Services. I am blessed to work with writers -beginners and advanced- helping them to produce their project(s) to be presented to the world. Copy Editing has become fulfilling for me, and I am enjoying the journey more each day. I am on the path of purpose.
